What is meant by saying that the normal distribution is a theoretical distribution?
Data will never exactly match perfectly with the normal distribution.
How can the normal curve model be useful when dealing with real data?
Because we know the area of the normal curve so we can use that data to determine teh area under the curve.
What is the shape of the normal curve? Is it unimodal? Is it symmetric?
It is unimodal, symetric graph
How is the total population depicted in a graph? As a probability?
By the area of the curve, the probability will be the area under the curve at that area, of what the probability of someone falling into that part of the population.
In a graph, how do we depict the proportion of the population with scores between two specified value?
Find how far it is from 50% and compute.
What are the two parameters of the normal distribution?
The location and the variability.
How is the normal table used?
By finding the percent or z score looking up the value and recording the informationl;
