|

Victim may be able to negotiate out of sexual behavior. Assaults to REASSURE HIMSELF OF HIS OWN MASCULINITY.

Manhood Assertive Rapist
|
Rapist does not doubt his masculinity or sexual abilities. Wants to assert dominance and control over victim. Will look for someone who looks vulnerable, may rape multiple people over a short period of time. No negotiating, may be a prolonged attack. May use a con approach. Will take a trophy to remind himself that he won and was dominant over his victim.

Anger Retaliatory Rapist
|
Engages in sexual assault to "get even" with women. Sexual assault is his weapon, he wants to punish and degrade them. Attack is quick, blitz attack, stressor has occur in rapist's life right before his attack, but may rape at any point when he is angry. Tends to target women that symbolize women they hate. May use alcohol or drugs to help them commit the attack. May use a knife and be extremely violent, will inflict pain and rape victim, bondage and torture.

Anger Excitation
|
Rapist experience arousal from the victim's response to pain and suffering. Will look for a victim of opportunity, plan rape, and bring a rape kit. Is a sado-masicist (inflicts pain on victim and may want victim to inflict pain on him), history of domestic violence. Has many characteristics of antisocial personality disorder. Brutal force, bondage, and uses objects in sexual assault (rocks, twigs).
