3 Important things RE starting/stopping antidepressants

-Will have mild side effects for ~5 days, should dissapear in a week
-Start and stop on half dose for a week -Length of treatment ->1st episode - 6m+ -> 2nd episode - 2y+ -> 3rd+ episide - 5y-life |

Excellent at preventing relapses. Not a good antidepressant or antipsychotic.
Narrow therapeutic window, so monitor closely Side Effects -Metallic taste -Polyuria -Polydipsia -Fine tremor -Rare teratogenic effect Chronic Toxicity -Neurological signs Acute toxicity -Coarse tremor -Nausea and Vomiting -Comatose -Death -Need dialysis |
