Personal pronouns- subject

Subject pronouns are used for the actor of the sentence


E.g. she was in a good mood

I you he she we you they

Personal prinouns- object

Object pronouns replace a noun that receives the action of the verb


E.g. give the book to him

Possessive pronouns

Used when possession is shown


E.g. it is mine

Mine yours his hers ours yours theirs

Reflexive pronouns

Used when the subject and object are as one (or used for emphasis)

Demonstrative pronouns

Used to point out relationships between the speaker and a person or thing - have a deictic function
