What must be considered when applying fades to Elastic Audio enabled tracks?
Pro Tools' Elastic Audio processes butt-spliced regions on a Real-Time Elastic Audio-enabled track separately, even though they are contiguous on the track; this can result in an audible pop when playing back across the transition between regions. To compensate, Pro Tools applies microfades to region boundaries on RTEA-enabled tracks. These last only about 1.5 milliseconds (64 samples at 44kHz, 128 @ 96kHz, and 256 @ 192kHz)
Can Elastic Audio processing be applied to fades?
NO, despite the fact that fades can be placed on regions on Elastic Audio-enabled tracks.
