Macule
Flat, nonpalpable change in skin color up to 1 cm

freckle, fat nevi, petechia, measles
Patch
Like a macule but larger than 1 cm.

Senile lentigo (liver spots), mongolian spots, vitiligo
Papule
A palpable, evelvated, circumscribed solid mass caused by supervicial thickening in the epidermis up to .5 cm
Lichen planus, elevated nevus, wart
Plaque
A flat elevated surface like papule but larger than .5cm. Coalescence of papules.

Psoriasis, licen planus, the xans
Nodule
A solid elevated mass less than 1-2 cm. Firm and extends deep into the dermis

Fibroma
Tumor
A solid elevated firm mass larger than 1-2 cm deep in the dermis. Benign or malignant, lipoma hemangioma.

Big nodule
Wheal
Superficial, raised erythematous lesion with irregular borders due to edema. Fluid is in the tissues, eg mosquito bte, allergic reaction
Urticaria
Wheals coalescing to form a big reaction. Extremely Pruritic. Hives
Vesicle
A circumscribed, superficial elevated cavity containing free, clear fluid less than 1cm.

Bullae
Large vesicle, single chambered, superficial, thin walled.

Cyst
Encapsulated fluid, pus or clear.

Like Bullae but deep in dermis and epidermis

Pustules
Circumscribes, superficial elevated cavity (not in dermis) containing turbid pus flid up to 1cm.

Depressed skin level resulting from loss of tissue. Thining of epidermis. Shiny translucent skin
Lichenification
roughening of the skin usually from intense scratching. Packed set of papules, eczema
Keloid
Hypertrophic scar
Cherry Angioma
Campbell de Morgan. Small bright red papules of no consequences. On trunks of middle aged and elderly
Spider Angioma
Pressing on center with slide makes it disapear. If on trunk, check liver. May be normal on children faces or in pregnancy
Telangiectasia
Permanently dilated vessels in the skin. Can be caused by nifedipine. Often on ankles
Nevus Flammeus, port wine stain
There at birth, dilated dermal capillaries, pale pink or purple macules on face or trunk
