Crisis intervention
inmmediate short term treatment for an individual incrisis or extreeme distress. Is ubable to cope or make own decisions because he or she is overwhelmed.
Crisis theory
disruption of a person's normal or stable state. Arises when a person's basic needs has been severed or at risk of being severed.
Basic needs
Physical supplies to live (oxygen food etc), personal identity, supportive and close relationships, membership in at least one group that ccepts us, roles that promote sense of self respect, finacial security, values

situational, maturaional , societal or cultral values
Situational crisis
Sources: physical or personal (illness, disability) 2. Social or interpersonal (death of family) 3. Material or environmental (nautral disasters). A non anticipated event that is beyond the person's control.
