Name the Three unpaired trunks
Celiac Trunk (foregut)
Superior Mesenteric Artery (midgut) Inferior Mesenteric Artery (hindgut) |
Name the three branches off the Celiac Trunk and where do they go and give rise to.
1) Common Hepatic - proper hepatic & gastroduodenal (which branches into the L gastroepiploic and the pancreticoduodenal)
2) Left Gastric - supplies blood to the lesser curvature 3) Splenic Artery - branches the R gastroepiploic |
Name the first 3 Lumbar Plexus, segmentation and special notes
1) Subcostal T12 - Be onto of the Quadratus Lumborum most superiorly
2) Iliohypogastric T12-L1 - crosses the Quadratus Lumborum in the middle superior to ilioinguinal 3) Ilioinguinal L1 travel in the Inguinal Canal to provide sensation for the perineum |
Name the second 3 Lumbar Plexus, segmentation and special notes
4) Genitofemoral L1-L2 - Pierces the Psoas Major and heads toward the ASIS. It branches in two
a) Genital Branch inn the cremaster muscle of the spermatic cord in males b)Femoral Branch - inn patch of skin in the upper thigh 5) Lateral Cutaneous of the Thigh L2-L3 - It runs directly distal to the ASIS to inn skin of the upper thigh 6) Obturator L2-L4 - found medial to the Psoas Major ALWAYS. heads with the artery to the Obturator Canal. inn MS of the medial compartment of the thigh and skin |
Name the last nerve of the Lumbar Plexus and the first of the Sacral plexus
Femoral Nerve L2-L4 - It is big! Slides under the Inguinal Ligament and inn the Quads, anterior thigh skin and a branch fgoes to the foot for medial cuts inn. Always can be found coming out laterally to the Psoas Major. It
Lumbosacral Trunk L4-L5 - Not part of the Lumbar Plexus. It is a ventral rami of the Sacral plexus. It is DEEP to the obturator and can be found going over the Sacral Wing into the pelvis. The Superior Gluteal Artery classically runs in form of it and posterior to S1 nerve. |
Sympathetic Trunk in the Lumbar Region - Describe it
It is between the Psoas Major and the Vertebral Column. Fine branches leaving the the trunk are Lumbar Splanchnic
