Polymer

A chain of monomers joined together. Polymers are formed when bonds of monomer break and attach to other monomers to form long chain

Poly(ethene)

Polymer of ethene. It is formed when double bonds of carbon break to form bond with other carbon from different ether molecule. This forms infinitely long chain of poly(ethene).

Uses of poly(ethene)

LDPE is used for making plastic bags and HDPE is used for making bottles as it is more rigid.

Poly(propene)

The polymer of propene.

Poly(propene) uses

It is used most importantly for making ropes

Poly(chloroethene)

Polymer of monomer chlproethene which has one chlorine atom in ethene molecule instead of hydrogen atom

Polystyrene

Polymer of styrene - C8H8
