Air System and Exhaust Purpose
-Air Intake
To supply clean air to the cylinders in sufficient quantity to support the combustion process

-Exhuast

To remove waste gases from the cylinders and vent them to the atmosphere. The exhaust system also removes 1/3 of the heat of combustion.
Turbocharger Purpose
Compresses the intake air to increase volumetric efficiency of the engine.
Air Box Purpose
Serve as a reservoir to ensure sufficient intake and scavenging air is present to support engine operations.
Combustion Chamber
location where fuel and air are mixed and burned.
Oil Separator and Air Ejector Purpose
Cools oil vapor.

Remove vapors and cause a negative pressure in the crankcase.
Maintenance Procedures
Monthly:
Inspect exhaust system for leaks.

6 Months:
Replace gross air filters.

Every 500 hours of Operation:
Clean air box.


Every 2000 hours of Operation:
Clean the air ejector filter element.

Drain and clean the oil bath air filters.

Refill the sumps with the proper viscosity oil.
