Ante

The beginning bet - all players must put in if they want to be dealt to

Fold

If you have a bad hand, you throw your cards away - this can be done throughout the game.

Call

When you put the same amount as someone else's bet in order to go to the next stage

Raise

When you put more money in than the other person's bet - usually done when you have a great hand

Capped Betting

No longer bet, only call. Happens usually after 4 raises

Pair

Two of any card (e.g. two 5's.)

Two Pair

Having two pairs (e.g. two 5's and two 8's)

Three of a Kind

Three of a card (e.g. three 5's)

Straight

All your cards are in order (e.g. 3-4-5-6-7)

Flush

All your cards are in the same suit (e.g. all cards are hearts)

Full House

A pair and a three of a kind (e.g. two 5's and three 8's)

Four of a Kind

Four of a card (e.g. four 5's)

Straight Flush

A straight with all cards in the same suit (e.g. 3-4-5-6-7 all hearts)

Royal Flush

Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10 all in the same suit
