treatment of hydrocarbon ingestion
none, monitor pulse ox.
TCA poisoning
MS change, anticholinergic signs: tachy, mydriasis, dry mouth, urinary retention, constipation. sudden death can occur up to 24hrs after due to cardiac arrhythmia.
when to use charcoal
any injestion >2hrs old. not for heavy metals, Fe, Li, hydrocarbons, methanol, ethylene glycol.
treatment of caustic ingestion, acid or base
NPO, IVF, CXR (for signs of aspiration), EGD.

anticholinergic (TCA, antihistamines, belladonna)
