Aramid In-Mold Helmets

An in-mold helmet construction is very lightweight, but lacks penetration resistance due to the thin shell. By molding a sheet of aramid to the core, the low weight is maintained while the protection is radically improved.

Aramid Bridges

By molding aramid bridges to the core of the helmet, the impact forces are spread over a larger surface. At the same time, the helmet gains structural stability through the bonding of the unbreakable aramid weave and the EPS liner which allows for a very lightweight helmet with a high level of protection.

VDSAP

POC's patented Ventilated Double Shell Anti-Penetration is built on two ventilated shells that are placed offset for maximum protection against penetration form sharp objects, while maintaining good airflow and ventilation.

MIPS

Multi-directional Impact Protection System. Used to reduce the rotational forces of the brain in the case of oblique impact. A normal helmet is created to absorb vertical impacts efficiently, not rotational forces. The MIPS system absorbs rotational forces by allowing a small rotation of the out shell relative to the liner.

Super Ventilated Helmets

Adjustable and optimized for ventilation depending on conditions. Combination of goggle vents, chimney vents, VDSAP, and adjustable vents makes helmets very ventilated.

Multi-Impact Helmets

Most helmets today have liners made of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), a great shock absorbing material, but will be permanently compressed under impact. POC uses multi-impact EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) as core material that creates a helmet that will protect under repeated impact.

Multi-Impact Deflector Panel

Worn out front panels from impacts with gates lead to the creation of the Multi-Impact Deflector Panel. Panel decreases the transmitted force of the impact and increases the shock absorption. Panel is made of multi-impact EPP material.

JetForce Technology

Multi-year project with BD and PIEPS. First air bag system to use jet-fan inflation. Powered by lithium-ion battery, a fan spins at 60,000 RPM to inflate 200 liter bag in 4 seconds. JetForce allows for multiple deployments. Fan cycles for 3 minutes and can create an air pocket. Unlimited air supply means it can maintain shape despite small tears or punctures. Battery functions at -30 C.

VPD 2.0

Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough - given us a completely new approach to developing body armor due to its high level of protection and the ability to transition from soft to hard during impact. We don't have to chose between safety and flexibility.

When entering the market in 2005, POC chose to address the ski racing community; a challenging group with the highest demands on protection, performance, and comfort. POC was founded in 2005 and made its first entry, addressing the ski racing market, at the ISPO trade show where it also introduced its mission.
