S/E: Hypoglycemia, look for indications of people w/ sulfur allergies
Meglitinides: “-glinides” (Prandin, Starlix)
Also increases insulin release, however not sulfa based

S/E: Hypoglycemia
Dipeptidyl Peptidase: 4 Inhibitors (DPP-4 Inhibitors) – “-gliptins” (Januvia)
AKA incretins (amplifies amount of insulin secreted based on amount of elevated glucose) --> It gets stimulated based on amount of glucose that's present. It won't stimulate if glucose is not there.

S/E: Hypoglycemia (Won't see as much w/ people who take this drug
Biguanide: (Metformin)

S/E: Lacticacidosis d/t long term use which results in kidney damage
Thiazolidinediones: “-glitazones” (Avandia, Actos)
Was given in the past, rarely seen in US anymore d/t increased risk for stroke
α – Glucosidase Inhibitors (Precose)
Interferes with absorption of glucose from the gut; it doesn't get absorbed well in the bloodstream --> Basically prevents glucose from entering gut which then also prevents from entering bloodstream
