What is transpiration?

The process of a plant absorbing water and eventually evaporate into the atmosphere

Equation of photosynthesis

Carbon dioxide + water = Glucose and oxygen

6CO2 + 6H2O = C6H12O6 6O2

How does water travel up a plant

Hydrogen bond between water molecules creates cohesive forces

Why does leaf colour differ in different seasons

Leaf will change the pigment of itself to maximise the sunlight it absorbs as the light a spectrum shifts during different seasons.

How does temperature affect transpiration of a plant

The hotter the temperature gets the faster transpiration because water will evaporate at much faster rate therefore need more water to alive

How does light affect the transpiration of a plant

The more light there is the faster the reaction until plant reaches it's maximum capacity for light

Label the plant

What does xylem and phloem do

Xylem: transport water up a plant

Phloem: transport glucose up a plant
