Bilabial
When both lips come together to form a sound. E.g. 'B' in 'Billy'.
Labio-dental
When the lower lip is raised to the upper teeth to produce a sound such as 'F' in 'Fish'.
Dental
When the tongue tip is positioned so it touches in between the upper two teeth to make the sound 'th' in 'the'.
Alveolar
When the tongue tip is positioned so it touches the alveolar ridge (lump behind the two front teeth) to generate the sound 't' in 'tongue'.
Alveopalatal
When the tip of the tongue is raised to the back of the alveolar ridge to produce the 'sh' in 'she'.
