What is an adjustment layer?
A specialized layer that contains information about color or tonal adjustments. An adjustment layer affects the pixels in all the layers below it.
What is a fill layer?
A layer with pixels of a solid color of any opacity. A fill layer places an opaque layer of color throughout an image.
Can a background layer contain transparent pixels?
No.
What is a gradient fill layer?
Places a gradient throughout your image.
What is a pattern fill layer?
Places a pattern throughout your image.
What is a background layer?
The default bottom layer that appears when you create a new image or when you import an image from a scanner. You can create new layers on top of a Background layer, but not below it.
