Know a passage's ___ ___ and structure. By structure, I mean:
1. What is the main point of each paragraph?
2. Why is each paragraph included and what does it have to do with the main idea?
3. Do the main points of the paragraphs form a logical progression, or some other system of relationships?
main idea
A successful approach to Reading Comprehension can be thought of as a 4-phase process:
1. Do a "first read" of the passage, diagramming while you read.
2. Reflect: state the main idea in your head.
3. For each questions, rephrase if needed, then anticipate what the answer will say.
4. Use process of elimination to select a final answer. Check your answer word-for-word before hitting "Submit."
