Indications:
Empty the bladder Therapeutic actions: Stimulates cholinergic receptors. Contraction of the urinary bladder, increased tone and peristalsis in the GI tract. Increased gastric secretions. Adverse effects: headache, malaise, lacrimation, miosis, bronchospasm, heart block, syncope/cardiac arrest, bradycardia, hypotension, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, N&V, salivation, urgency. Caution: history of asthma, ulcer disease, CVD, epilepsy, hyperthyroidism, sensitivity to cholinergic agents or effects Contraindications: Hypersensitivity and mechanical obstruction of the GI or GU tract.
