Action: Inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins


I: Mild to moderate pain, fever, inflammation r/t RA, OA


CI: Blood disorders. Impaired Kidney.


Never use in children w/ Influenza or Chicken pox -> Reye's Syndrome (inflammation of brain and liver - confusion, seizures, LOC)


AE: Tinnitus, Occult blood loss, acidosis


D2D: Oral anticoagulants


NC: monitor for ototoxicity. d/c before sx.


Dysmenorrhea care: 2days prior and d/c if heavy bleeding

AE:Headache, hemolytic anemia, BMsuppression, HEPATOTOXICITY (od)

Older adults AVOID: naproxen, ketorolac, ketoprofen
