Nausea and vomiting, dyskinesias, dysrhythmias, orthostatic hypotension, psychosis
Levodopa/Carbidopa
Tachycardia, CNS: confusion, disorientation, memory impairment, toxic psychosis, visual hallucinations, rash, heat stroke, hyperthermia, constipation, dry throat, ileus, nasal dryness, vomiting, xerostomia, urinary retention, dysruia, blurred vision, mydriasis, fever
Benztropine
CNS effects, Gingival hyperplasia, use in pregnancy, skin rash, withdrawal seizure
Phenytoin
CNS effects: headache, visual disturbance, ataxia, vertigo, unsteadiness. Hematologic effects: leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, and very rarely fatal aplastic anemia. Severe skin reaction: can cause SJS and TEN.
Hypo-osmolarity.
Carbmazepine
CNS depression, withdrawal, can also cause nausea, constipation, and urinary retention.
Baclofen
Hepatic toxicity, muscle weakness, and CNS depression
Dantrolene
Respiratory depression, constipation, orthostatic hypotension, urinary retention, cough suppression, biliary colic, emesis, elevation of intracranial pressure, euphoria/dysphoria, sedation, miosis, neurotoxicity, adverse effects due to prolonged use.
Morphine
May precipitate an abstinence syndrome in patients physically dependent on opioid agonists. Increase cardiac work, and respiratory depression (has a ceiling)
Pentazocine
Acute withdrawal may occur based on physical dependence of opioid agonists. May unmask pain in postoperative patients.
