Dinoprstone: (Cervidil)
-Class: Prostaglandin analog, “Abortifiacient”, Pregnancy Category “C”
-Therapeutic Use: Cervical ripening or termination of pregnancy from weeks 12-20.
-Important Side Effect: Bradycardia/syncope, abnormal uterine contraction, bronchospasm, headaches/ flushing, blurred vision.
-Important Interactions: Augments the action of Oxytocin agents
Carboprost:
-Class: Analog of PGF2a
-Therapeutic Use: Controls postpartum bleeding
-Important Side Effect: vasospasm, potential increase in BP
-Important Interactions: Diarrhea
Alprostadil:
-Class: PGE1 agonist
-Therapeutic Use: Maintain patent ductus arteriosus and treatment of ED
-Important Side Effect: Bradycardia, hypotension, CHF, seizures, diarrhea, penile pain

Epoprostenol:
-Class: Analog of PGI-1
-Therapeutic Use: long term treatment of pulmonary HTN.
-Important Side Effect: Headaches, dizziness, diarrhea, mylagia, flushing and tachycardia
-Important Interactions: increased risk of bleeding w/ anti-coagulants
Remodulin
Prostacyclin analog approved for continuous infusion in 1o Pulmonary HTN.
Misoprostol:
-Class: Prostaglandin analog, “Abortifacient”, Pregnancy Category “X”
-Therapeutic Use: Prevent PUD in NSAID users and Rx of ulcers unresponsive to H2 antagonists.
-Important Side Effect: headache, diarrhea, cramps and uterine contractions
-Important Interactions: none
Latanoprost:
-Class: analog of PGF2a (agonist)
-Therapeutic Use: Reduction of IOP in open-angle glaucoma and ocular HTN
-Important Side Effect: Increased melanin = increased brown color in iris
-Important Interactions: few if administered properly – effects restricted to the eye.
Bimatoprost:
-Class: analog of PGF2a (agonist)
-Therapeutic Use: Reduction of IOP in open-angle glaucoma and ocular HTN
-Important Side Effect: Increased melanin = increased brown color in iris
-Important Interactions: few if administered properly – effects restricted to the eye.
Travoprost:
-Class: analog of PGF2a (agonist)
-Therapeutic Use: Reduction of IOP in open-angle glaucoma and ocular HTN

Unoprostone:
-Class: analog of PGF2a (agonist)

Montelukcast:
-Class: Leukotriene Cys LT1-antagonist
-Therapeutic Use: Asthma (1 x day)
-Important Side Effect: well tolerated, may cause diarrhea, laryngitis, otitis, sinusitis, and nausea
-Important Interactions: avoid in NSAID-sensitive patients. Chewable tablets contain Phenylalanine.
Zafirlukast:
-Class: Leukotriene Cys LT1-antagonist
-Therapeutic Use: Asthma (2x day)
-Important Side Effect: Same as Montelukast, plus rash and/or neuropathy similar to Churg-Strauss
-Important Interactions: Increases Warfarin effects, erythromycin and theophylline decrease Zafirlukast [], Aspirin increases [] of Zafirlukast.
Zileuton:
-Class: 5-Lipoxygenase inhibitor – inhibit leukotrienes synthesis
-Therapeutic Use: Asthma prophylaxis
-Important Side Effect: well tolerated, may cause headaches
-Important Interactions: Zileuton increases the plasma [] of Propranolol, Theophylline, and Warfarin
