ampicillin and Amoxicillin
HELPS kill enterococci:
Hflu, E.coli, listeria, proteus, salmonella, enteroccoci; penicillinase - sensitive
Cefazolin and oral cephalexin

2nd generation cephalosporins; most of enterobacteriacea family (ESPEK) + Hflu and Niesseria
Ceftriaxone, Cefixime, Ceftazidime, Cefoperazone
3rd Gen Cephalosporins- most gram(-), most resistant to B-lactamase, highest CSF penetration, least gram+; neisseria gonorhea, psuedomonas, salmonella
longest half life of cephalosporines - 8h, 3rd gen, gonarrhea
3rd gen cephalosporin, bile exretion- good for renal failure pts.
monobactam, inhibits cell wall synth- binds PBP3, no cross-allerginicity with penicillins, synergystic with aminoglycosides; gram-neg rods, no gram + or anaerobes
carbapenem; broad range-gram+ cocci, gram- rods, anaerobes, inhibtis cell wall transpeptidation, resistant to B-lactamase: enterobacter, campylobacter fetus, serratia
aminoglycoside, binds 30S; gram - rods, enterococci, psuedomonas
