Contraindicated for patients with malignant melanoma (it can activate this neoplasm) and for patients taking MAO inhibitors. Also, exercise caution in patients with cardiac disease and psychiatric disorders.
Levodopa/Carbidopa
This drug is usually avoided when treating elderly patients because they are intolerant of CNS side effects. Contraindications are pyloric and duodenal obstruction, stenosing peptic ulcers, bladder neck obstructions, achalasia, myasthenia gravis and children under 3 years of age. Use with caution in patients with tachycardia, cardiac dysrythmias, hypertension, hypotension, glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia, any tendency toward urinary retention, liver or kidney disorders, obstructive disease of the GI or GU tract, and in patients with mental disorders.
Benztropine
Contraindicated for patients with sinus bradycardia, sinoatrial block, second or third degree atrioventricular block, or stroke-adams syndrome.
Phenytoin
Contraindicated for patient with a history of bone marrow depression or adverse hematologic reactions to other drugs.
Carbmazepine
Contraindicated against anyone who might have hypersensitivity to baclofen.
Baclofen
Contraindicated for patients with active liver disease (cirrhosis, hepatitis)
Dantrolene
Contraindicated for infants, and following biliary tract surgery. Use opioids with cautions in patients with head injury, profound CNS depression, coma, respiratory depression, pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, hypotension, reduced blood volume, prostatic hypertrophy, urethral structure, and liver impairment. Caution is also required when treating infants, elderly, and patients, receiving MAO inhibitors, CNS depressants, anticholinergic drugs, and hypotensive agents
morphine
Should not be given to patients with acute mycardial infarction. Also may precipitate an abstinence syndrome in patients physically dependent on opioid agonists.
Pentazocine
Dosage needs to be titrated carefully. Use the caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, or in patients receiving medications with potential adverse cardiovascular effects. Use in caution in patients with hx of seizures.
