What is the passé composé? |
The past tense in French that is made up of two component parts, an auxiliary verb and a past participle. |

How do you tell the difference between passé composé using être and a predicate adjective? |
If the past participle is one of the 20 intransitive verbs or is a reflexive verb, it is passé composé and must be translated into the past tense. If it is not, then it is a predicate adjective and must be translated into the present tense. |
