Ear drum

Sounds waves hit it and translates the wave enery to mechanical energy to travel the rest of the ear

Malleus

Connects ear drum, passes sound to rest of ear

Incus

Anvil, collects vibrations and sends to the stirrup

Stapes

Stirrup, final bone on the ear, collects and passes on sounds, causing stirrup to compress/compressing waves so they can pass into inner ear

Semicircular canals

Receive electrical impulses generated by ear and pass info to the brain to be interpreted

Cochlea

Filled with nerve cells, pick up different vibrations/frequencies and turn them into electrical pulses sent up to the brain

Eustachian tube

Equalized pressure on each side of the ear drum, protects middle ear from unwanted pressure fluctuations and loud sounds
