Noun
Person, place or thing. Could be abstract such as love and liberty.
Proper Noun
A specific person, place or thing. Ex: Mary, Mississippi River, Volkswagon.
Pronoun
Takes the place of a noun. Ex: she, he, him, they, those.
Adjective
describes a noun or a pronoun. Specify the quality, the size, and the number of nouns or pronouns. Ex: Two, huge.
Verb
this is a word that shows an action (physical or mental) or state of being of the subject in a sentence.
- State of being ex: am, is, was, are, were.
- Action: think, call, run, jump.
Adverb
used to describe adjectives, verbs, or another adverb. answers questions such as; when? where? how? to what degree?
Preposition
refers to words that specify location or a location in time. Ex: above, below, throughout, outside, before, near, and since
Conjunctions
joins words, phrases, or clauses together.
Ex: and, yet, but, for, nor, or, and so
Interjection
Words which express emotions. Ex: ouch! wow! hey!
