Endoplasmic reticulum
Carries materials from one part of the cell to another
Golgi bodies
Receive materials from the endoplasmic reticulum and send them to other parts of the cell.
Cytoplasm
The area between the cell membrane and the nucleus. It contains a gel-like fluid in which many different organelles are found.
Mitochondria
Is called the powerhouse of the cell, because they produce most of the energy the cell needs to carry out the functions.
Endoplasmic Reticulum
A maze of passageways, these passageways carry proteins and other materials from one part of the cell to another.
Ribosomes
Function as factories to produce proteins. May be attached to the outer surfaces of the endoplasmic reticulum, or they may flot free in the cytoplasm.
Chloroplast
Capture energy from the sunlight and ust it to produce food for the cell. Gives plants their green color.
