Autumn and winter.

Dx - FEC, ELISA or EquiSal test

Tx - double dose pyrantel or single dose praziquantel

• Hepato-tracheal migration
• PPP ~12w
• CS uncommon
• Heavy = coughing, nasal discharge
• Obstruction/impactions possible
• Compete for nutrients
• Dx - FEC (>1000/g = significant)

• 8-10cm
• Eggs 80um, ovoid, mucoid plug
• Double bulbed oesophagus
• Females have long, fat anterior part to a tapering tail
• males have one spicule

• Lay eggs peri-anally = anal rust
• Female dies and passes in faeces once laid
• L3 develops in egg (4-5d)
• Eggs containing L3 ingested
• → mucosal crypts of caecum and colon (10d)
• then moults to L4
• PPP ~5m
