Curleys wife has the dream of being in the movies "coulda been in the movies" this dream would give her the financial independence and the attention she seeks

George and Lennie have the dream of living of the fata of the land and when candy overhears their conversion he immediately wants to join in as he is telling them everything he can put forward and even try to get sympathy from them "I'm not much good with on'ly one hand" which shows his vunrabilty and how nieve he is as he's only just meet Lennie and George

Discrimination; curleys wife

Curleys wife is has a lack of identity as she hasn't got a proper name instead she is thought to be a position of curleys. She is discriminated by the majority of the men on the ranch "she's got the eye"


"Jail bait" "you god damn tramp" however slim is the only one who really gives her a compliment showing he isn't afraid to express what he feels "hey ,good lookin"

Crooks is discriminated throughout the novella because of his colour he has the same level of authority as a animal and is isolated from the other men


Curleys wife goes into the barn when the other men have gone to the brothel and calls crooks a "nigga" however this would be a good time to establish some friendships yet she hinders this and wants to be superior towarda the more vunrable ...she then states to crooks" I could get you strung up on a tree so easy it ain't even funny"
