What is Constructional Apraxia

impairment in producing designs in 2 or 3 diminsions by copying, drawing, or constructing. ex. copy bridge made of 3 blocks

concerning constructional apraxia this type of lesion is characteristic of exhibiting executive of planning problems, they are hesitant in tasks, difficulty in initiating planned sequence of movement. Hesitant because they are unable to plan.

|
inability to dress oneself because of disorder in body scheme and or spatial relations. ex: put clothes on upside down

|
the inability to imitate gestures or perform a purposeful motor task on command even though the patient fully understands the idea or concept of the task. cannot do motor task or commands. ex: when asked to write they can verbally tell you how but can't pick up pen

What is Ideational Apraxia
|
The inabilty to carry out activities automatically or on command because the patient no longer understands the concept idea of the act. EX. asked to light a cigarette, may put match in mouth and try to light it with a cigarette
