What electronic devices can a PIC allow to operate whilst in IFR flight?
Except as provided in paragraph (c), no person may operate, nor may any operator or PIC of an aircraft allow the operation of, any portable electronic device on any aircraft flying under IFR during an instrument approach or departure procedure or during any other critical phase of flight.

(c) This does not apply to:
- hearing aids
- heart pacemakers
- portable voice recorders
- electric shavers
- electric watches
- any other electronic device if the operator has determined that the portable electronic device will not cause interference with any aircraft system or equipment

- any person, or any part of any cargo, which, in the opinion of the PIC, is likely to endanger the aircraft or its occupants

For the time period of ETA +/- 60 mins the weather at the destination must be :

- ceiling above 1000' above the minima published for the approach to be used

- visibility of at least 5km or 2000m above the minima published for the approach to be used, whichever is greater

(An alternate must be above IFR minima table ENR1.5-7 or the formula at the ETA. It must have secondary power for the navaids to be used and aerodrome lighting, if used at night)
What changes to the flight plan must be communicated to ATC?
- any deviation to track

- any variation of 5% or more of the true airspeed or any variation of +/- M0.01 to the Mach given in the flight plan

- a revised ETA when the estimated ETA to the next reporting point is found to be in error of more than 2 minutes
