Slowly aspirate urine . If blood flows into syringe, withdraw and repeat attempt with new equipment . Release negative pressure, withdraw needle . Puncture seals over quickly especially due to 45 degree angle |

. If lesion is heavily contaminated: cleanse site with cotton and sterile water . Use sterile hemostat, pluck damaged hairs & scale from edge of lesion . Press hairs, etc. into surface of dermatophyte medium |
