What's the criteria for supervising a graduate?
must be in good standing and is active for a minimum of 2 years

Must inform the patients and get their consent.

Must sign off all charting and must be on location at all times.
What are graduates not allowed to perform?

-venipuncture, skin pricking
-acupuncture
-manip
-injection or inhalation administration
Is Ozone therapy approved?
Currently, the Board has not approved ozone therapy for clinical practice by registrants in Ontario.

To approve the practice of ozone therapy, the Board must, in the best interests of public
protection, set the following criteria:

a) certification of training from a Board-approved ozone association or school;
b) use of equipment approved by the Board;
c) approved standards of practice for ozone therapy.
Can you inject anything other than B12 and folate?
Intramuscular or subcutaneous injections of any other substance are not approved by the Board for clinical practice by registrants in Ontario, unless the registrant is certified for the practice of parenteral therapy under the provisions of the Parenteral Therapy Policy.
what happens if a patient's information is lost, stolen..?
custodian must notify the patient.
If a naturopath and a chiro work in the same building and share a patient. can they discuss this patient?
yes. this is implied consent, for the purpose of providing direct health care, unless patient specifically declines this.
what is considered sexual abuse?
• Sexual intercourse or other forms of physical relations between a Naturopathic
Doctor and a client
• Sexual touching of the client by the Naturopathic Doctor
• Behaviour or remarks of a sexual nature by the Naturopathic Doctor towards the client
When is a genital, breast, anal or rectal exam considered inappropriate behaviour?
• Subjecting a client to a genital, breast, anal or rectal examination in the presence of
medical students or other parties without the explicit written consent of the client, or when consent has been withdrawn
When is it OK for a naturopath to date their patient?
after terminating the professional relationship, providing referral and waiting 2 years, unless the professional relationship was about counseling, then NEVER.

7 years
