Define heat cramps and how to help someone who has one..
a. Muscle spasms, twitching of limbs.
b. Move person to cool place, lay them down, provide 1-2 glasses of water with half teaspoon salt in each glass
define heat exhaustion.. and how to someone
a. General weakness, fatigue, possible drop in BP, blurred vision, profuse sweating, pale, and clammy skin.
b. 101-102 degrees F, nausea, dizziness, feel faint, pulse: fast and weak, breathing: fast and shallow
c. Place in cool area, remove clothing, apply cold water or ice, and give 1 cup of water with half teaspoon salt every 15 minutes for 1 hour

a. Life threatening, BP increases dramatically, body temperature can reach 106 degrees F
b. Sweating stops, skin is hot and red
c. Muscles are limp
d. Involuntary limb movements, seizures, diarrhea, vomiting, rapid and strong heart beat

f. Move to cool place, remove clothing, reduce body temperature quickly, seek emergency medical attention.

Plantar Fascitis
a. Plantar fascia: band of tissue on bottom of foot
b. Runs from the heel to ball of foot to form the arch. Fat in heel serves as shock absorber.
c. With overuse and age: fat pad thinner, results in inflammation
d. Heel pain, difficulty walking
e. Prevention and treatment: shoes with good heel support, heal cups, toe raises, stretch calf muscles, aspirin, ibuprofen
