What is a Noun?
a person, place, thing, animal or idea.
How can you tell when a word is being used as a noun?
First, ask yourself whether the word is being used to describe a thing. It could be an abstract thing, such as an:
Emotion (love)
Event (discussion)
Quality (cleanliness)
Action (removal)
Result of an action (production).
If you are not sure of the exact grammatical role, where do you look in spotting the noun?
