Pseudocyst
Presents exactly like a cyst but LACKS the epithelial lining!!
Traumatic Bone Cyst (TBC)
liquefaction of intrabony blood clot
50%= 2dary to trauma
usually post mand of old ppl
Rx= scalloping between the roots of adjacent teeth.
Instruments often "fall into a black hole" of the TBC upon biopsy!!
Tx- reestablish bleeding to stimlate bone repair-- Often occurs simply upon biopsy!
Asymtpomatic radiographic interadicular SCALLOPED black hole radiolucency between adajcent teeth of post. mand. following trauma (esp if old person)

****Developmental anatomic alteration of lingual depression in mand. molar submandibular SG area****
****Rx- just BELOW mandibular CANAL******
Biopsy unnecessary and would reveal only salivary gland tissue
MALEs (predilection)
Biopsy of ra post mand. lesion in the submandibular gland region JUST BELOW the mandibular canal of a dude with a histo of normal salivary gland tissue
Stafne Bone Defect!!
Developmental alteration that represents altered (nbut anatomoical) position of the submandibular gland!
Focal Osteoporotic Bone Marrow Defect
composed of normal hematopoietic bone marrow
Prev Extraction site
Poss reps ABNOMRAL HEALING (bone marrow instead of cancellous bone)
post mand of females
no Tx necessary
