Movement to source energy, food, etc locally--self-sufficiency

A "leak" to media by company/government to test opinion on a controversial topic.

Road where Pedestrians/bicycles have priority.
Zombie subdivision
Result of housing boom and bust--and communities desire to resurrect and recoup investment in infrastructure.
Colonia
Unofficial community, often w/ many immigrants which lack services, etc.
Cohousing
More modern concept of "commune." Intentional community where residents share responsibilities and concern. Issues of equity and diversity--it is a goal, but not usually achieved. Seen as a potential lifestyle choice for aging population.
