Subsistence Farming
Growing only enough for the farmer and family to survive. Scant surplus could be traded to other villagers, but not enough is grown to call your bounty a cash crop.
Interdependent
To depend on one another to survive.
Charter

An agreement to establish a government, entered into by the Pilgrims in the cabin of the Mayflower on November 11, 1620.

Banish
To expel from or relegate to a country or place by authoritative decree; condemn to exile.
Puritan
A member of a group from New England that settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630 and sought to reform the practices of the Church of England.
Pilgrim
A member of the group that rejected the Church of England, sailed to America, and founded the Plymouth Colony in 1620.
