Describe the descending reticular system/
○ Cognitive thought triggers emotional state
§ This triggers the gamma efferent system that gets the signal to the part of the muscle (spindal) that is going to be activated
○ The emotion might cause an adrenaline rush
§ The alpha efferent causes the muscles to contract, but the spindal does not go down
§ The alpha afferent (inside the nerve fiber that is connected to the spindal) tells the brain wheter or not the spindal is squashed
§ Then the alpha efferent sends more signals
○ As a result you get more muscle strength than you usually have
