Variable Decelerations
Abnormal; Noted as V-shaped. Caused by cord compression. Intervention is to change mothers position, stop Pitocin, apply oxygen, increase rate of IVF.
Late Decelerations
Abnormal; Occur after the peak of the contraction and mirror in length and intensity. Caused by uteroplacental insufficiency. Intervention is to change mothers position, stop Pitocin, apply oxygen, increase rates of IVF.
Treatment for Maternal Hypotension after Epidural
