what is contract administration

this consists of all the activities performed by the ID during the time the contract between the owner and the contractor is in force

for the limited purpose for cking for conformance w/info given and to see if they follow the design intent - the ID is not responsible for determining the accuracy of measurements or completeness of details, etc.

what does the project mgr do during the job?
|
the pm - must constantly coordinate the various people involved: design firm's staff, consultants, client, bldg code officials, firm mgt. must also maintain schedule, direct staff and make sure wk is getting done.

what is one thing that the ID must keep a log of?

according to the owner-designer agreement - the ID must keep a log of submittals and copies of submittals

under FF&E does the ID have the right to reject furniture and equipment?

NOOO - only the owner may reject nonconforming work and must do so in writing to the vendor - however the ID may assist the owner

who is responsible for safety on the job?
|
the contractor - the interior designer should NOT volunteer or suggest any direction concerning any type of safety issues on the jobsite - if a violation is noticed, it should be brought to the attention of the owner and the contractor and f/up in writing

|
form ltr that ID can use to send info to anyone involved w/the project or anyone from whom info has been requested
