Describe the effects that changes in density have on True Airspeed and mach airspeed
TAS increases with decreasing density
Mach increases with decreasing density
Define Indicated, Calibrated, True, and Ground Speed
IAS: the airspeed read directly from the aircraft Airspeed Indicator
CAS: IAS corrected for instrument installation error.
TAS: calibrated airspeed corrected for air density (pressure and temperature) and is the speed of the aircraft through the air mass.
Ground Speed: the actual speed of the aircraft relative to the ground and is found by correcting TAS for HW/TW
Identify the three Vectors and their two components that make up the wind triangle.
Air Vector: Direction (TH) and Speed (TAS)
Ground Vector: intended or actual flight path (TC or TRK) and Groundspeed
Wind Vector: wind direction (DIR) and velocity
