There is a misconception that STDs or STI cannot be transmitted from one female to another. This is not true. STDs and STIs can be transmitted through various forms of sexual activity, no matter the sex of the individuals involved.

Scissoring is not the end all be all of lesbian sex. While some individuals enjoy tribadism or scissoring, other individuals might prefer other sexual activities.

Some asexuals, like demisexuals and gray asexuals, might have and enjoy sex. It is all about individual preference.

Being transgender is about gender, not sexuality. This means that if some is trans then they can be gay, straight, asexual or any other orientation; it is all about the individual's sexual identity.

This misconception stems from heteronormativity, and the idea that all individuals are born straight, and that is the ideal. So, when individuals deviate from this norm by having multiple identities, or those that identify with more obscure identities are just looking to be seen as unique. This is not true, all identities are valid.

While it is possible for polyamorous people to cheat, polyamorous relationships are characterized by open communication- everyone involved knows what is going on in a healthy poly relationship.

An Ally is defined as any individual who supports a community which they are not a part of. For example, a cisgender (ooposite of transgender) lesbian can be an ally to the transgender community.
