Where would you like to be in your career five years from now?
Hopefully in 5 or 10 years, I will be a Senior QA Analyst once I have gained a very solid experience in QA and develop other necessary skills such as greater leadership.
Tell me about your proudest achievement.
While I was working at LJW Solutions, we were initially protyping the Felica Smart Card to figure out which type of software projects we could work on. We were having a tough time figuring out the entire SDK, we couldn’t even get the card to read. So I was assigned with a small group to figure it out. I worked very diligently and figured out how to do everything with the card individually. I was very proud that I jump started the entire Felica Division, which spawned more projects.
Give me an example of a time when you had to think out of the box.
For our Senior project, we had to think outside the box all the time. We had to figure out a way to get out compiler to work with the robot, creating a lego code generator no one has ever done before.
What negative thing would your last boss say about you?
My leader from LJW said I needed to improve on my presentation skills just a bit and I have been working on it ever since, improving every time I present anything.
What can you do for us that other candidates can't?
While I don’t know the exact qualifications of the other candidates, I can assure you that I have solid knowledge of the development process being in a few of them, while its not of the scale of projects here, I can adapt most readily. I really enjoy the entire software process, committing myself to the two internships to learn more, and feel accomplished. My previous supervisors believe me to be very hardworking, diligent, and courteous to my teammates. I can assure you I will make my teammates work much more easy.
Tell me about a time you faced an ethical dilemma.
When I was working on this project for our Software Construction Class, we had a group of 5. Every week we had to turn in a section of the entire project. Me and another two in the group seemed to always put a lot more work than the other two. Afterwards for a few week, the two group members wanted to blow the whistle to the professor. I had a dilemma on what to do, so I just asked them to give them another chance, and we all had a discussion and it ended up making our project better because now everyone was giving 100% without anyone really suffering grade wise.
Tell me about a project you worked on that required heavy analytical thinking.
Our Senior project required a lot analytical thinking, most of the time we didn’t know what we were doing in the intial phase. We didn’t know what would work, and what wouldn’t. It had a lot of x’s and o’s to account for. Plus, the project was only slated for 10 weeks, not a lot of time to write a complete compiler and figuring out the assembly language of the Lego Robot.
Why do you want to work here?
Based on the research I have done on the First American Corporation, I see that it is truly one of the best companies out there. It has a top 5 Ceo at the helm, which means the leadership in this Corporation is top notch. Strong leadership spawns great employees. I believe I have the background, aptitude to learn, and skills to put to use.
What are your strength's?
One of my greatest strengths that I have learned from my education and experience is that I really believe in myself that I can the job done. Through all the projects from school and work, I have yet to fail when I put my mind to it. I am fully committed while on a project, and meticulously go at it.
What are your weaknesse's?
Sometimes i get too focused on ONE task and find myself some what unable to truely multitask
