consonance
a pleasing sound, generally thought to produce a relaxation repsonse

measures
the spaces created between 2 adjacent bar lines; each contains exactly the number of beats dictated by the time signature
treble clef sign
the italian style sign that indicates notes to be played by the right hand on a piano
bass clef sign
the italian style sign that indicates notes to be played by the left hand on a piano
downbeat
generally, the 1st and strongest beat of every/any measure; another thing that human beings tend to do
dynamics
louds and softs in music; quit subjective in acoustical music; objective with electronic music; indicated by abbreviations p (piano), mp (mezzo piano), mf (mezzo forte), f(forte)
timbre
tone quality, created by differences in size, material, method of starting the pitch, etc
tempo
speed of the music, speed of the beats
interval
the distance between any 2 notes; can be as small as the half step (jaws theme), or as large as an 88th (highest and lowest notes on the standard piano!)
conductive vibration
the transmission of vibration by physically contacting an inanimate object with a vibrating source
sympathetic vibration
the transmission of vibration with no physical contact other than the air, or other viable gas environment.
