N= Medial pectoral nerve

Subclavius

O= Junction of 1st rib + its costal cartilage

I= Groove on inferior surface of clavicle

A= Depresses clavicle, draws shoulder forward + downward, stabilises clavicle during movement of shoulder girdle

N= Subclavian nerve (branch of the brachial plexus)

Coracobrachialis

O= Coracoid process

I= Medial surface of humeral shaft (between brachialis muscle + medial head of triceps)

A= Weak adduction

N= Musculocutaneous nerve (C6,7)

Biceps Brachii

O= Long head- supraglenoid tubercle

Short head- coracoid process

C spine: Extension, side bending

N= Accessory nerve

Latissimus Dorsi

O= sp's T7-12, lumbar vertebrae, supraspinous ligament, sacral vertebrae, posterior part of iliac crest through thoracolumbar fascia, lower 4 ribs, inferior angle of scapula

N= Dorsal scapular nerve

Rhomboid Major

O= Sp T2-5, Supraspinous ligament

I= Medial border of scapular (below spine)

A= Retract + stabilise scapula, elevates medial border > downward rotation, assists in adduction of arm.

N= Dorsal scapular nerve

Rhomboid Minor

O= Sp's C7-T1, lower part of lig nuchae

I= Medial border of scap at root of spine

A=Retracts + stabilises scapula, elevates medial border,

rotates scap to depress lateral angle (assists in adduction of arm

Mid. : Abduction

Post. : Extension, external rotation

N= Axillary nerve

Supraspinatus

Rotator cuff

O= Supraspinous fossa

I= Upper part of greater tuberosity of humerus, joint capsule

A= Arm: Abduction (aids deltoid), weak flexion

Draws humerus towards glenoid fossa preventing deltoid from forcing humerus> acromion

N= Suprascapular nerve (C5)

Infraspinatus

Rotator cuff

O= Infraspinous fossa

I= Middle facet of greater tuberosity of humerus, joint capsule
