How is speed different from velocity and acceleration?

Speed does not involve direction, but both velocity and acceleration do

Speed can only have positive values, but velocity and acceleration values can be positive or negative

Centripetal Acceleration
Acceleration that occurs in circular motion
Two factors that affect the velocity and acceleration of an object.

a change in speed

a change in direction

Formula for Speed

speed=distance/time

s=d/t

Formula for Velocity

Velocity= distance/time+direction

v=d/t+direction

Acceleration

the rate at which velocity changes; an object accelerates if its speed changes, if its direction changes, or if both its speed and its direction change
Motion

an object's change in position over time when compared with a reference point
Speed

the rate at which an object moves; speed depends on distance traveled and the time taken to travel that distance

Velocity

the speed of an object in a particular direction

Reference Point

the starting point you choose to describe the location, or position, of an object

Reference Direction

is a direction used as a basis for comparison of other directions
