How are Rickettsia transmitted?

Through arthropod vectors(except Q fever, Coxiella burnetti, was previously classified as a Rickettsia)

|
A test for antibodies to proteus vulgaris antigens used to diagnose Rickettsia infection based on the coincidental cross reactivity with Rickettsia.

What is Rocky mountain spotted fever?
|
Fever, headache, conjunctival redness and rash on palms and soles due to Rickettsia rickettsi. RMSF is transmitted by tick bites and is actually more common in the eastern US.

Fever, headache, rash due to Rickettsia prowazekii. Transmitted at times of overcrowding(poverty, war by human lice.

Fever, headache, rash from Rickettsia typhii(less severe than epidemic typhus) spread by rodent fleas.

|
Rickettsia akari carried by mites that causes an initial red papule at the bite site, and eventually chickenpox like vesicles over the body.

Tetracyclines(doxycycline)

What disease does C. burnetti cause. How does it spread?
|
Q fever. Spreads by inhalation of endospores from placental products of animals.

Self limited, flu like illness, pneumonia and can cause hepatitis and endocarditis.
