Chronic unexplained cough

B. pertussis is now a frequent cause of chronic unexplained cough in adolescents and adults, with as many as 20-30% with cough greater than 1 week duration may be showing serological evidence of B. pertussis.
Other causes to exclude include: -asthma -post-nasal drip (allergic rhinitis) -acid reflux -use of ACE-inhibitors (for blood pressure control) |
